Photograph of preservation technicians working to restore fragments of the Dead Sea Scrolls in the laboratory of the Shrine of the Book in Jerusalem, Israel. The preservationists remove cellophane tape that was applied to the fragments by researchers in the 1940s. The Dead Sea Scrolls were found in 1947 in caves at Qumran in the Judean Hills. This fragment contains scripture from Samuel II, Chapter 2, #12-18. The technician handles the delicate fragment of Aramaic text on parchment using tweezers in the lab.
